Its almost partridge season which means for us we will start shooting towards the end of September. I have just about managed to survive the summer holidays and the girls have loved being out helping release the pheasants and partridge then spending evenings chasing them back to the pens!
Summer has been fun and filled with lots of activities but it is difficult doing so much of it on my own but we have really tried to make the most of getting away from the shoot for a few hours on a Sunday. I have tried to stay as positive as I can over the busy period as it is so easy to feel down about how much work my husband is doing when he is up and the crack of dawn and out lamping at night but I have taken it as a prime opportunity to sit down with a glass of wine and good book most evenings when the kids are in bed before the craziness of school starts again.
With the season just around the corner I am really looking forward to it although it is going to be crazy busy! Hattie starts nursery in September so I will have 4 days a week out picking up and then beating on a Saturday with the girls so its going to have to be some sort of military operation to get everyone in the right place at the right time but who doesn't love a challenge?!
As always my inbox is always open if your a struggling or just want to have a rant to someone as I know how frustrating this life can be at times but I think its always worth it in the end.
