It has soon come around to that crazy time of year where birds are arriving and the grouse season is a month away. We have all enjoyed the lovely slow pace of life after the shooting season had finished but my god does it go so quickly, just as I'm starting to get used to having my husband around to help with the kids and enjoy time together as a family in come the birds to disrupt all the peace.
I think I personally get the most anxiety at this time of year because it is such a shock when things get so busy with pheasants to feed and pens to walk round and it just feel like my husband is never at the house and I end up picking up more of the jobs at home so everyone is exhausted and irritable so it ends up normally being a crazy few months. However I also feel like with the girls being that little bit older this year that it will be easier (might be wishful thinking) Olivia is very helpful with the dogs and actually makes it so much easier to do them and they both love being out on the shoot so I'm actually looking forward to the summer holidays when we can go out in the truck and have picnics out in the pens while daddy is working.
I know this lifestyle can be hard on both keepers but their partners too so if anyone is ever having a hard time or just a bad day and wants to reach out to someone for a rant or some advice my inbox is always open and I'm always happy to just listen if that's what you need.
